Mitsubishi Heads Up for Prediction Driving
Mitsubishi Electric has the “Ultra-simple HMI” which predicts what the driver wants to do an then shows options on screen in front of the driver’s eyes that can be activated by voice or easy-to-reach buttons, called the HMI.
The screen is 17.w inches making it easier to see and requires less eye movement.
Black Hat Hack into Connected Car: DeviCAN Can Stop Your CAN Bus
There is a Bluetooth hacking tool that can bite into the Controller Area Network of cars’ computer and can stop the car and cause a lot of mischief.
At Black Hat Asia Spanish researchers Javier Vazquez-Vidal and Alberto Garcia Illera will show a device that when connected to cars can turn off headlights, set off alarms, and roll windows down or set the parking break. The device is called deviCan Hacking Tool or CHT.
Ford Auto Connected Cars to Bloggers at MWC
Ford will socialize its marketing with the connected EcoSport cars in a six month blog and social media campaign. Ford of Europe will show a new automated research car with automated driving and other advanced technology after 2025.
The event will start at Mobile World Congress called EcoSport Live. Cars will be loaned to one hundred of the hippest bloggers to write about the EcoSports connectivity via social media.
Chevy OnStar LTE Free Rides at South by Southwest
Chevrolet will be at the South by Southwest Music, Film and Tech festival as a Super Sponsor March.7-16 in Austin Texas.
Those attending the event will be the first to tryout LTE OnStar vehicles at the Austin Convention Center. GM Chevy cars with OnStar will not be the only stars at the show, there will also be speakers showing how your next Chevy may have augmented reality to help you navigate, investigate and not tailgate.
Test Drive Auto Connected Car by Renting, Says Enterprise
Recently, I rented a car with a full navigation and smartphone connectable Bluetooth head unit. It was a delight to listen to iTunes while driving in areas where there is bad radio reception. It helped me realize how important a connected car can be people who are on the road for long periods of time.

We drivers in low riding compact cars often wish we had bird’s eye view of traffic like SUV and truck driver’s see. In the future, a car may send out a flying quadro-copter flying companion drone that will eagle scout dangers and traffic on the road ahead.
