The 2027 Gravity lineup simplifies its packaging, bundles more technology as standard equipment, and introduces a top-tier Prestige Package — as the electric S.U.V. maker looks to broaden its foothold in the luxury market.
Since delivering its first Air sedan in late 2021, the California-based electric vehicle maker has positioned itself as a luxury alternative to Tesla, one that could rival the refinement of a German automaker while beating virtually everyone on driving range. Now, with the Gravity sport utility vehicle gaining traction in showrooms, Lucid is betting that a more thoughtful product strategy can turn early promise into sustained momentum.
On Wednesday, the company unveiled the 2027 Gravity lineup, announcing a round of updates that it said would make the vehicle easier to buy, better equipped from the start, and more customizable at the top end. The changes touch every trim level and introduce a new Prestige Package for the range-topping Grand Touring — a bundle aimed squarely at buyers who want everything Lucid can offer in a single transaction.
The entry-level Gravity Touring, starting at $79,900, will now come standard with DreamDrive 2 Premium, the company’s more capable suite of driver-assistance features, along with an additional key fob. Both had previously been optional. The Grand Touring, priced from $98,900, gains even more standard content — including a Comfort and Convenience Package, a Power Package, and larger 21-inch and 22-inch wheels — narrowing the gap between what a buyer gets at base and what they might have once had to specify separately.
“With the 2027 updates, we’ve expanded standard features, simplified choices, and introduced a new Prestige Package that showcases the very best of Lucid design and technology,” said Erwin Raphael, Lucid’s senior vice president of revenue. “These enhancements reflect our continued focus on delivering compelling products as Gravity gains momentum in the market.”
A Bundle for Those Who Want It All
The centerpiece of the 2027 announcement is the Prestige Package, available exclusively on the Grand Touring and priced starting at $10,500. It includes 22-inch and 23-inch wheels, Lucid’s Surreal Sound Pro audio system, the Dynamic Handling Package, and third-row seating — features that were previously scattered across separate option lines. Lucid says the package will be available beginning in the summer of 2026.
The move reflects a broader industry trend toward simplified option structures, one that Tesla pioneered and that legacy automakers have increasingly adopted. For Lucid, which is still working to scale production and reach profitability, packaging complexity has been a recurring point of friction for potential customers navigating its configurator.
Momentum on the Accolades Front
The product refresh comes as Lucid is riding a wave of recognition for the Gravity. The S.U.V. was recently named the 2026 World Luxury Car of the Year by the World Car Awards, a distinction that placed it above electric, hybrid, and internal-combustion competitors judged by more than 100 automotive journalists globally. For a company that has long had to defend its commercial footing, the award offered a measure of validation that its vehicles can compete on quality and prestige, not just on efficiency metrics.
The 2027 Gravity retains the class-leading range ratings the company earned from the Environmental Protection Agency for the current model, a figure Lucid has used as a selling point since the Air’s debut. Range anxiety, long one of the most significant barriers to electric vehicle adoption, has been an area where Lucid has consistently outperformed rivals.
Eyes on the Road Ahead
The Gravity is not the only vehicle Lucid is counting on. The company outlined at a recent investor day that the S.U.V. forms a key pillar of its near-term growth plan, sitting alongside the Air sedan and ahead of two additional models — the midsize Cosmos and the Earth — that are expected to significantly expand Lucid’s addressable market and lower its average transaction price.
For now, the company is focused on execution. Production and delivery of the Gravity are still ramping, and Lucid has been candid with investors about the challenges of scaling a luxury electric vehicle from a standing start. The 2027 updates, company executives suggested, are as much about keeping existing customers engaged and bringing clarity to the buying process as they are about drawing new ones.
Customers interested in configuring a 2027 Gravity can do so through the company’s online Design Yours tool, which Lucid said has been updated to reflect the new lineup. Canadian pricing starts at $113,500 for the Touring and $139,500 for the Grand Touring.
