SFO Skycharger EV Fast Charging Hub
Skycharger has been awarded a lease to develop a high-speed electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), following unanimous approvals from both the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and the SFO Airport Commission. The new facility, designed to serve rideshare drivers, airport guests, and the public, will support California’s Clean Miles Standard and SFO’s zero net carbon operations goal. Expected to eliminate over 200,000 tons of CO₂ emissions in its first decade, the hub will feature 400 kW charging ports, Kempower’s dynamic fast-charging hardware, and a convenience store. This project adds to Skycharger’s expanding clean transportation footprint, including recent EV truck hub grants and developments in Southern California and at the Port of San Diego.
XCharge Fleets EV Charging Depot in Riverside
XCharge North America has deployed two dual-dispenser GridLink chargers at a new EV depot in Riverside, California, operated by Gateway Fleets—a platform designed for last-mile delivery electrification. The GridLink system integrates high-speed EV charging with 430 kWh of battery storage, enabling off-peak energy use to lower costs and reduce grid strain. This launch supports California’s ZEV mandates and aids medium-duty fleet operators, including FedEx contractors, in achieving compliance. Gateway’s flat-rate EV leasing model, combined with XCharge’s reliable, space-efficient chargers, offers a scalable and cost-effective solution for commercial fleet electrification amid rising energy demands and infrastructure limitations.
Kia Expands EV Tesla Charging Access
Kia is expanding its EV charging network by adding access to over 21,500 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S., supplementing the more than 22,000 public fast chargers already available. Kia EV6, EV9, and Niro owners with CCS1 ports can now charge at Superchargers using an adapter, integrated directly into the Kia Access app. This move aims to ease “charge anxiety” and improve long-distance travel by providing real-time station data and pricing. The expansion reflects a broader industry push toward shared charging infrastructure and user convenience.
