Elektrobit and Foxconn EV.OS

Elektrobit announced , a joint development agreement with Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) to co-develop EV.OS, an advanced, AI-centric software platform designed to accelerate the shift toward software-defined electric vehicles (SDVs). The collaboration aims to deliver a flexible, scalable smart EV architecture that integrates both software and hardware elements to streamline vehicle development and reduce costs.

The joint platform will include EV.OS, a standardized EV operating system; EV.EEA, a reference electrical/electronic architecture; and a suite of EV applications. Together, these components will support high-performance and real-time electronic control units (ECUs), enabling service-oriented architectures and third-party app integration via semantic vehicle APIs.

Supported by Elektrobit’s software integration capabilities and Foxconn’s hardware and manufacturing innovation, the platform is built to scale across multiple models and brands. Development will use modern DevOps tools and virtualized testing environments to accelerate deployment cycles and enable continuous integration and delivery.

Silicon Motion Technology Corp. has announced that its Universal Flash Storage (UFS) solution has successfully completed compatibility validation with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon® Cockpit SA8295P platform. This milestone enables seamless integration of Silicon Motion’s high-performance, ASIL-B compliant UFS 3.1 storage in smart vehicle cockpits, enhancing AI processing, multitasking, and reliability.

The SA8295P, a powerful 5nm automotive chip supporting advanced graphics and functional safety, is now fully compatible with Silicon Motion’s UFS technology, which supports features like HS-Gear4, 2-lane mode, and command queuing.
