Traffic Light Assist or TLA uses the car’s network connection, GPS and municipal traffic control information. It displays a countdown timer in the dash to show how many seconds there are before the light changes. The technology, is currently is in testing. Local traffic light information data is relayed through Audi’s propitiatory system.
Audi is testing the technology in cities around the world. Before it can be deployed it must be approved by local traffic control institutions.
Audio also offers advanced cruise control driver assist in traffic jams, where the car drives it self.
Audi reported January 2014 sales of 10,101 vehicles, a 0.4% increase over the previous January record set last year.
