Tensor Earns ISO/SAE 21434 Cybersecurity Certification

Tensor Auto has received ISO/SAE 21434 certification for its Cybersecurity Management System after an independent audit by the European technical service provider Applus+ IDIADA. The audit found no non-conformities across the vehicle lifecycle. The certification lays the groundwork for UN R155 cybersecurity type approval in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea.

The auditors examined the engineering practices behind Tensor’s edge-first architecture, which handles perception, path planning, and biometric authentication on the vehicle without depending on a constant cloud connection. The validated processes included lifecycle traceability, threat analysis and risk assessment, escalation to a Vehicle Security Operations Center, cryptographically secured over-the-air updates, supply chain governance, and end-of-line manufacturing checks.

OCTO Telematics and TruckerCloud Target Commercial Auto Insurance

OCTO Telematics and TruckerCloud have formed a partnership to speed the adoption of telematics in U.S. commercial auto insurance. OCTO also introduced installed in-vehicle hardware built for commercial insurers. The device provides real-time crash detection, automated reconstruction of first notice of loss, and a driver coaching and rewards app. It also supports OCTO’s DriveAbility risk score, which is approved for commercial lines in about 35 states.

Under the partnership, DriveAbility will be built into TruckerCloud’s data platform for Class 1 through Class 6 vehicles. TruckerCloud already normalizes data from roughly 200 electronic logging, camera, and telematics systems used by heavy-duty fleets and supplies its own FleetFile crash risk score. The integration extends data ingestion, risk segmentation, and underwriting support to light- and medium-duty commercial vehicles, a segment that has largely gone unconnected.

Benteler Mobility Brings a Modular Transit Ecosystem to North America

Benteler Mobility unveiled its modular mobility ecosystem for transit agencies at APTA TRANSform and EXPO 2026 in Chicago. The package combines route simulation, automated fleet operations, and multi-year financing that turns capital spending into predictable operating costs. The centerpiece is the HOLON autonomous shuttle, an ADA-compliant vehicle that carries 15 passengers and has automated wheelchair restraints designed for driverless service.

The software side comes from ioki, which is setting up a U.S. subsidiary. Agencies can use digital twin simulation to test route redesigns, on-demand dispatch, and microtransit plans against real rider patterns before launch. The system is platform-agnostic, so ioki’s management software can work with third-party buses, and the HOLON chassis is compatible with several autonomous driving stacks.

MassDOT Deploys TAPCO Wrong-Way Detection Trailers

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has put 14 solar-powered Wrong-Way Detection Trailers from TAPCO into service to help prevent head-on highway crashes. Each towable unit detects a vehicle’s direction, records video, and triggers high-intensity LED signs when a driver enters an exit ramp against traffic. It also sends alerts and video to regional traffic management centers and law enforcement, so officials no longer have to wait for a bystander’s emergency call.

Because the trailers need no trenching, grid connection, or extensive engineering review, they can be deployed quickly. MassDOT is placing them on unsignalized ramps to gather data on how drivers enter, and whether they correct themselves, before it commits to permanent intelligent transportation installations. The effort supports a mandate under Governor Maura Healey requiring data-driven ramp countermeasures across the state highway network.

Mojio Becomes Force Fleet and Launches the Felix AI Assistant

Telematics provider Mojio has retired its name and relaunched as Force Fleet, aiming at small and mid-sized commercial operators. Alongside the new brand it released Felix, an AI agent now in beta. The platform, which has tracked 750 million miles in the United States, combines GPS hardware, cellular dual-facing dashcams, and automated analytics. It is meant to give trade fleets operational guidance without a dedicated fleet manager.

Felix analyzes vehicle health, fuel use, utilization, and driver behavior, and compares a fleet’s numbers with aggregated data from other customers. Computer vision video review and automated driver coaching are planned for later phases. Force Fleet is also adding integrations, including one with Housecall Pro that brings real-time telematics into field dispatch and work-order scheduling.

AP Mobility Expands Its Aftermarket Electronics Abroad

South Korea’s AP Mobility is growing its aftermarket business beyond Taiwan with a broader lineup of vision, access control, and driver safety products. Since late 2025 it has put about 1,100 S KEY Lite smart keys through Taiwanese distributors, and it is now scaling exports of its hardware and software, mainly for Hyundai and Kia vehicles.

The lineup includes MAX PRO, an AI-based 360-degree around-view system that removes blind spots during parking and low-speed maneuvers. It also includes AB LIGHT, a retrofit system that guards against pedal misapplication. AB LIGHT watches the vehicle’s CAN bus for erratic pedal input, and when it detects abnormal acceleration it sounds visual and audible alerts and overrides the accelerator signal. It does this without modifying the original engine control unit.

GM Launches OnStar Fleet Intelligence With a Generative AI Assistant

General Motors has introduced OnStar Fleet Intelligence, an enterprise platform that turns connected-vehicle data into operational insight for commercial fleets. It draws on data the vehicles already generate, so no aftermarket hardware is needed to track utilization, diagnostics, and operating costs. Its Fleet Insights module analyzes trends across vehicles, routes, and drivers to pinpoint fuel spikes and the risk of mechanical downtime.

The platform also includes the OnStar Fleet AI Assistant, which lets managers ask questions in plain language instead of digging through dashboards and static reports. Operators can request figures such as total idle time, duty-cycle variance, and utilization rankings. Access is limited for now to select GM Fleet enterprise accounts in a phased rollout, and full functionality requires an active connected services subscription.

Cervoz Introduces MIL-STD-810H SSDs for Rugged Systems

Cervoz Technology has released the T449 and T459 Series, M.2 2280 NVMe drives certified to MIL-STD-810H for shock, vibration, and combined temperature and altitude stress. They are aimed at mission computers, AI edge nodes, unmanned aerial, ground, and surface vehicles, and demanding transportation systems. The drives use anti-vibration underfill to hold the controller and industrial 3D TLC NAND in place, with optional conformal coating against chemicals and moisture.

Running over PCIe Gen4 x4, the drives reach sequential speeds of up to 5,085 MB/s read and 4,765 MB/s write, and come in capacities up to 2TB. They include LDPC error correction, wear leveling, and end-to-end data protection, and the T459 adds dynamic SLC caching and over-provisioning to limit write amplification during continuous recording. For high-assurance uses they offer hardware write protection, Quick Erase sanitization, and a Physical Destroy trigger that sends a destructive overstress to the controller and NAND. Operating ranges are 0°C to 70°C for standard models and -40°C to +85°C for wide-temperature versions.

Ballard Launches Fleet360 for North American Transit Fleets

Ballard Power Systems introduced Ballard Fleet360 at APTA TRANSform and EXPO 2026 in Chicago, a lifecycle service program for new FCmove-HD+ fuel cell modules in North America. It bundles stack telematics, committed field resolution times, spare parts, technician training through Ballard Academy, and Core+ refurbishment. Under the top FCcare+ tier, Ballard guarantees module power output for up to 250,000 miles of revenue service.
