ParkMe spots parking spots in Venice, Hollywood & LA

parkmeappUh-oh ParkMe may be stealing my secret parking spaces in Venice beach, Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles. The ParkMe app and web portal now shows available street parking spaces in real-time in in Hollywood and Venice in Los Angeles.

ParkMe is working with Xerox, to show parking spots available and saving drivers time and money.

The expansion into Hollywood and Venice extends coverage of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation’s LA Express Park program. The ParkMe app covers of 800 parking spots in Venice. It also shows spots in Santa Monica and downtown Los Angeles.

The app offers discounts on parking during large events such as conferences, sports events and trade shows. In places where street parking is not monitored the app gives rates for parking facilities and the ability to make reservations, pay in advance and cancel within 24 of the reservation.

We tried the system to find a parking space in a very crowded part of Venice at dinner time. It showed one open parking space on Washington Blvd. near the restaurant at sunset, a difficult time of day to find a street parking space in Venice.

ParkMe uses Xerox’s MERGE platform to find parking and reduce up to 30 percent of urban traffic congestion. ParkMe uses sensor based infrastructures and proprietary algorithmic models.

ParkMe street parking is available in Las Vegas, Miami Beach, Dallas, and Austin.

Drivers in Hollywood and Venice access real-time rates, hours and availability. Information can be accessed through the LA Express Park website, ParkMe’s smartphone apps (Android and iPhone) and at www.ParkMe.com.

The system has an added perk with access to the nearest parking spaces, it cuts down driver time and cuts emissions and helps improve traffic flow.

ParkMe claims it can tell you where to find the street parking up to 2 weeks in the future.
