Electrify America & Simon Hyper-Fast Charging

Electrify America and Simon have expanded their long-running partnership, surpassing 500 Hyper-Fast EV chargers across 105 charging stations at Simon shopping centers in 27 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. Since their first installation in 2018, the companies have integrated fast charging into major retail locations, enabling drivers to charge while shopping, dining, or enjoying entertainment.

The collaboration has delivered more than 189 GWh of energy and powered over 549 million electric miles to date. A recent highlight is a large 20-charger site at Simon’s Fashion Valley mall in San Diego. Electrify America’s Hyper-Fast chargers, capable of up to 350 kW, can charge compatible vehicles in about 20 minutes.

Both companies emphasize convenience: Simon aims to enhance the guest experience, while Electrify America continues expanding accessible, high-speed charging. Features like the Electrify America app and Plug & Charge further streamline use. A correction clarifies that reported energy dispensed should be measured in gigawatt-hours, not kilowatt-hours.

Hyundai Motor Group and Air Liquide Expansion

Hyundai Motor Group and Air Liquide have renewed their strategic partnership with a new MoU announced at the Hydrogen Council CEO Summit in Seoul. The strengthened collaboration aims to scale a full hydrogen value chain — production, storage, transport, and utilization — across Europe, Korea, and the United States. The focus is on accelerating hydrogen adoption in heavy-duty transport, logistics, and public transit.

By combining Hyundai’s mobility leadership with Air Liquide’s technical expertise, the partners plan to expand refueling infrastructure, build a reliable low-carbon hydrogen supply chain, and advance innovation in hydrogen technologies. The agreement also supports the broader commercialization of fuel cell electric vehicles for logistics fleets, buses, and port operations, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to a sustainable, carbon-neutral energy future.

SparkCharge, MassCEC, and Zipcar 1st Off-Grid Mobile Charging Hub

SparkCharge has partnered with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and Zipcar to deploy the region’s first off-grid, mobile DC fast-charging hub for shared electric vehicles. Installed at Zipcar’s East Boston maintenance facility—an Environmental Justice community—the pilot delivers scalable, high-speed charging without traditional grid constraints.

Funded by MassCEC’s InnovateMass program, the mobile 320 kW battery-powered trailer allows Zipcar’s rotating EV fleet to be recharged quickly on-site, enabling rapid turnaround for members and rideshare drivers across Greater Boston. The system integrates with existing facility power to recharge its batteries between sessions without stressing the local grid, eliminating major infrastructure upgrades and upfront costs.

The initiative expands clean mobility access, supports equitable transportation in underserved areas, and offers a blueprint for fast, deployable fleet charging as Massachusetts advances toward its 2050 net-zero goals. Zipcar, SparkCharge, and MassCEC emphasize that the project demonstrates a community-first model for convenient, scalable EV infrastructure and fleet electrification.

EVgo Surpasses Five Million Autocharge+ Sessions

EVgo has exceeded five million Autocharge+ sessions, reflecting rapid growth in its plug-and-charge technology, which now has more than 300,000 enrolled users—six times the number in 2023. Nearly 80 EV models are eligible, with the highest participation from Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, and Rivian drivers.

Autocharge+ lets compatible EVs begin charging automatically at EVgo fast-charging stations after a one-time enrollment. The system supports most CCS vehicles, native NACS vehicles, and Teslas using a CCS1 adapter or EVgo’s NACS connectors. Nearly 30% of all EVgo charging sessions are initiated through Autocharge+, contributing to improved success rates on the network.

EVgo continues to collaborate with automakers and expand its technology through rigorous testing at its Innovation Lab. Enrollment is simple in the EVgo app, and drivers can choose from multiple pricing plans including EVgo PlusMax, EVgo Plus, and Pay As You Go. Autocharge+ is designed to deliver a faster, more convenient charging experience nationwide.

EV Leasing Surges with Tax Credit Expiration

With the federal EV tax credit expiring at the end of September, Experian’s State of the Automotive Finance Market Report: Q3 2025 shows a clear spike in electric vehicle activity. EVs accounted for 11.36% of new vehicle financing, up from 10.14% a year earlier, and leasing saw the biggest jump: 56% of new EVs were leased, compared to 46% in Q3 2024. EVs now make up one-quarter of all new leases, up from less than 18% last year. Four EVs—led by the Tesla Model Y and Model 3—ranked among the top ten leased models.

Experts expect the leasing surge to shape the used EV market as these vehicles come off lease in the coming years.

Overall auto finance trends reflected ongoing affordability challenges. New-vehicle interest rates dipped slightly to 6.56%, but average loan amounts and monthly payments rose, with new loans now averaging $42,332 and $748 per month. Used-vehicle borrowing showed similar patterns: lower interest rates but higher loan amounts and payments. Longer loan terms continued to grow, with nearly 30% of new loans stretching 73–84 months.

Additional Q3 2025 highlights:

  • Banks held the largest share of automotive financing (28.91%).
  • Delinquencies increased slightly for both 30-day and 60-day late payments.
  • New-vehicle financing rose to 43.27% of the market.
  • Average monthly savings from refinancing reached $77.
  • CUVs and SUVs remained dominant in new financing, while sedan share continued to fall.
