GovComm AI-Powered Wrong-Way Vehicle Detection
GovComm, a leading provider of AI-enhanced wrong-way vehicle detection systems, announced the nationwide expansion of its technology after significant success in Florida, where it accounts for more than 400 deployments. The accelerated rollout follows GovComm’s June 2025 acquisition by Synapse ITS, a transportation safety infrastructure leader.
The system, one of only six approved by Florida’s Department of Transportation, uses advanced artificial intelligence and bi-spectrum cameras with integrated sensors to reduce false alerts and provide real-time confirmation of wrong-way incidents. This expansion aims to help agencies across the U.S. implement safer roadway systems and reduce fatalities from wrong-way crashes.

Rekor Launches TrafficSight
Rekor Systems has introduced TrafficSight, a cloud-native platform that processes roadway video exclusively in the U.S., eliminating the security risks tied to sending raw footage overseas for manual analysis. Fully FHWA-compliant, the system converts existing video into traffic data and classifications without additional hardware or exposure to foreign data handling, addressing growing national security and privacy concerns.
To be unveiled at ITS World Congress 2025 in Atlanta, TrafficSight complements Rekor Discover, the company’s subscription-based Data-as-a-Service platform that delivers turnkey, FHWA-compliant traffic data without installation or maintenance burdens on agencies.
