Amazon Autos Sells New, Used & Certified Pre-Owned Car, SUVs & More in Los Angeles and SoCal

Amazon Autos is launching and includes used and certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles with a big splash in Car Captial of the West Coast, Los Angeles, California.

The expansion, which debuted this week in the Los Angeles area, allows participating dealers to list their used inventory alongside new vehicles already available on the site. The program is expected to reach additional cities in the coming months, further blurring the line between online convenience and the traditionally hands-on car-buying process.

“We look forward to bringing the convenience of Amazon Autos to used vehicle sales,” said Fan Jin, global leader of Amazon Autos, in a statement. “By including certified pre-owned and used vehicles, we’re meeting dealer demand for broader online reach while offering customers a wider selection of high-quality vehicles to fit your budget and unique lifestyle needs.”

We searched locally and most of the vehicles are at Hyundai Dealers, but the Hyundai Dealers in at Amazon Autos is are also selling Jeep, Mazda, Subaru, HYUNDAI, Dodge, Kia, Chrysler, Nissan, Ford, LEXUS, Toyota, Chevrolet, BMW, Buick and GMC models.

Shoppers can browse and compare thousands of cars online from top local dealerships, all featuring clear, upfront pricing. Whether searching for a fuel-efficient sedan or a rugged SUV, customers can explore a wide range of options—all in one place.

To help safeguard their purchase, customers have the option to add protection products designed to provide peace of mind for the road ahead. Online chat offers help.

Amazon Autos makes it easy to apply for customized financing, explore leasing offers, or choose to pay in cash. Flexible payment options are designed to suit a variety of budgets and preferences.

Once a vehicle is selected on Amazon Autos customers can head to their chosen dealership to test drive the car, complete any final paperwork, and pick up the keys. The entire experience is designed to be fast, simple, and seamless.

Every vehicle listed through Amazon Autos comes with straightforward pricing—no haggling required. Customers can easily compare prices across dealerships and receive a detailed breakdown of all costs before finalizing their decision.

The rollout builds upon Amazon Autos‘ initial launch in December 2024, which focused exclusively on new car sales and now includes dealers in over 130 U.S. cities. The platform is designed to streamline the research and purchasing steps online, while preserving the dealership handoff that culminates in the physical delivery of the vehicle — a nod to Amazon’s effort to support, rather than supplant, traditional auto retailers.

Weslie Metcalf, managing partner at Premier Hyundai Moreno Valley, one of the program’s early participants, welcomed the move.

“We’re optimistic about the opportunity to showcase our used and certified pre-owned inventory through Amazon Autos,” Metcalf said. “This collaboration has the potential to help us reach more customers and enhance our online sales process.”

For customers, the offering brings a level of transparency and flexibility not always associated with used car shopping. Each vehicle listing includes a comprehensive vehicle history report and clear pricing with no hidden fees. Protections include a three-day or 300-mile return window, and all vehicles come with at least a 30-day or 1,000-mile limited warranty.

Initially launching with Hyundai dealers, the selection of vehicles is expected to grow as additional dealerships join the program. All listings are geofenced to within a 75-mile radius of the customer, and integrated options for scheduling test drives are available through participating retailers.

Used and CPO vehicles will appear alongside new listings on the Amazon Autos storefront, and customers can filter by condition to tailor their search.

The initiative is part of a broader strategy by Amazon to extend its retail dominance into higher-value, in-person categories. The company has made similar moves in sectors like home services and healthcare, seeking to leverage its platform and logistics expertise while working through local providers.

As Amazon continues to reshape retail — from books to batteries to Buicks — the inclusion of pre-owned vehicles signals that even the used car lot is not immune from disruption.
