Drive into the Future @LAAutoshow with Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Dodge, Jepp, Kia, RAM, Rivian, Subaru & Toyota

The Los Angeles Auto Show will turn the LA convention center into an expansive proving ground for new cars. This year, organizers say more than 50 vehicles will be available for visitors to drive or ride — a scale of direct, hands-on access that few auto shows anywhere attempt.

Running from Nov. 21 to 30, the show will offer what amounts to a comprehensive snapshot of the modern car market, with opportunities to compare electric vehicles, hybrids, gasoline models and off-road-focused trucks across multiple brands. Test drives, which are included with admission, have become one of the show’s defining features and a major draw for consumers who want to evaluate vehicles outside the usual environment of a dealership.

For many attendees, the show provides something even more elusive: a chance to experience the rapid shift in automotive technology from behind the wheel rather than on a display stand. “There’s nothing like feeling a new vehicle come alive beneath you for the first time,” said Terri Toennies, the president of the Los Angeles Auto Show. “Visitors don’t just see the newest vehicles — they drive them, compare them and often discover which one actually fits their lives.”

This year’s outdoor driving program will be anchored by two major test-track areas. The Clean Power Alliance EV and Hybrid Test Track, sponsored by the CPA EV SmartCharge Program, includes a one-mile loop outside South Hall dedicated to more than 20 electrified vehicles. Cadillac, Chevrolet, Lucid, Volvo, Nissan, Volkswagen and Faraday Future will all participate, with several models — including the all-new Nissan Leaf — making their first public test-drive appearance. Lucid’s new Gravity, Cadillac’s expanding lineup of electric SUVs and Volvo’s EX30 are expected to draw significant interest.

Meanwhile, the Gilbert Lindsay Plaza Street Drives will send visitors into the surrounding streets of downtown Los Angeles in more than 30 vehicles spanning gas, hybrid and electric powertrains. Automakers from Alfa Romeo and Polestar to Jeep, Rivian, Subaru and Toyota will be on hand. The Polestar 4, an electric SUV coupe, will make its first public test-drive appearance, while trucks like the Ram 1500 and off-road-focused models like the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro will give drivers a sense of how traditional and electrified systems compare in real-world traffic.

Indoors, the show will once again feature a series of controlled ride experiences designed to highlight traction, articulation and suspension capability. In South Hall, Camp Jeep will return with professional drivers navigating steep climbs and simulated off-road obstacles in the Wrangler 4xe, Gladiator and Grand Cherokee L. Nearby, Hyundai will showcase its electric Ioniq lineup, allowing visitors to feel the handling and acceleration of the Ioniq 5 N and the comfort of the larger Ioniq 9 Calligraphy.

Ford will bring its Bronco Built Wild experience to West Hall, where attendees can strap in for a ride over an indoor course featuring sharp inclines and uneven surfaces that demonstrate the SUV’s off-road systems. These indoor rides, which have become staples of the LA show, often fill quickly, and organizers recommend that visitors head to the drive and ride areas early in the day.

Because test drives are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, guests are encouraged to register as soon as they arrive. Drivers must meet age requirements that vary by manufacturer and show a valid driver’s license, though passengers are welcome.

The show itself, founded in 1907, has long played a central role in shaping car culture in Southern California, one of the world’s most competitive and influential automotive markets. Beyond drawing hundreds of thousands of attendees each year, it brings significant economic activity to the city and remains the largest single revenue generator for the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The event opens with AutoMobility LA on Nov. 20, a dedicated press and industry day featuring new vehicle debuts, brand announcements and a slate of speakers focused on the intersection of transportation and technology. The following morning, the show opens to the public for 10 days, including Thanksgiving, giving shoppers, families and enthusiasts ample time to explore exhibits, new models and automotive innovations.

Tickets, available now, include access to all displays and test-drive opportunities. Admission varies by day: $18 for adults on opening day, $25 for adults on standard days and discounted rates for children and seniors throughout the run. A VIP priority entry option is available on weekends, and special family packages will be offered around Thanksgiving.

Up-to-date information on schedules, vehicle debuts and special programming can be found on the show’s website or through its social media channels.
