Pilot, GM & EVgo U.S. Fast-Charging 200+ in 40 States

Pilot Company, General Motors, and EVgo announced that their collaborative EV fast-charging network now spans over 200 locations in nearly 40 states, deploying nearly 850 new high-power charging stalls in just over two years. The network focuses on critical travel routes and rural areas, providing 24/7 access to fast chargers, plug-and-charge convenience, and amenities such as Wi-Fi, restaurants, and grocery services.

The expansion supports GM’s growing lineup of electric vehicles and ensures reliable charging for long-distance and interstate travel. With features like 350kW chargers, overhead canopies, and pull-through stalls for larger vehicles, the network emphasizes accessibility and driver convenience. The partners aim to reach 1,000 stalls by the end of 2025 and ultimately build up to 2,000 fast chargers at 500 Pilot and Flying J locations nationwide.

Autel MaxiCharger DT1000 for Megawatt-Class Charging

At its global launch event “Infinite Power – Starting from Zero,” Autel Energy unveiled the MaxiCharger DT1000 series equipped with Phoenix Contact’s 1,000A liquid-cooled CCS Type 2 connector, enabling high-power charging up to 1 MW in boost mode. The integration targets heavy-duty vehicles, commercial fleets, and high-performance passenger cars, offering enhanced thermal stability and system compatibility.

The liquid-cooled cable and connector system ensures continuous 800–1,000 A operation with IP67 protection, insulation monitoring, and temperature sensing, while Autel’s modular power electronics architecture allows flexible scaling for megawatt-level deployments. Designed for high-throughput locations like fleet depots and intercity bus terminals, the solution reduces infrastructure complexity and maximizes operational efficiency.

This collaboration demonstrates how high-current CCS2 technology can accelerate the adoption of future-ready charging infrastructure, positioning Autel Energy as a leader in scalable, high-performance EV charging solutions.

ComEd V2G Pilot with Illinois School Districts Electric Buses

ComEd has begun the testing phase of its first vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging pilot in northern Illinois, partnering with River Trails, Troy, and Wauconda school districts. The program evaluates bidirectional charging, enabling electric school buses to return stored energy to the grid during peak demand. This could lower school district energy costs, enhance grid stability, and expand the environmental and financial benefits of electric buses.

Part of ComEd’s multiyear Beneficial Electrification (BE) Plan, the pilot supports Illinois’ Climate and Equitable Jobs Act goal of 1 million EVs on the road by 2030. Developed with Resource Innovations and Nuvve, the initiative leverages advanced charging infrastructure already in place at the participating districts. ComEd is also seeking input from additional school districts for future V2G opportunities.

Officials highlight the project as both a cost-saving measure for schools and a scalable clean energy strategy for communities, potentially turning parked EVs into flexible energy resources across Illinois.

Workhorse W56 Qualifies HVIP $85,000 CA Incentive

Workhorse Group Inc. (NASDAQ: WKHS) announced its W56 electric step van is now eligible for $85,000 in base incentives per vehicle through California’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP). Certified dealer Kingsburg Truck Sales is submitting over 20 voucher requests this week, with allocations expected in Q4 2025.

The incentives significantly lower costs for California fleets, particularly those with up to 50 trucks, and are expected to drive growing demand for the W56, which is already proving itself on FedEx delivery routes. Workhorse is also showcasing the W56 at the FedEx Forward Service Provider Summit in Orlando.

Built in Union City, Indiana, the W56 comes in 178- and 208-inch wheelbase options, offering up to 1,200 cubic feet of cargo space. CEO Rick Dauch emphasized the company’s mission to deliver zero-emission trucks that fleets can deploy immediately, with HVIP support helping accelerate adoption.

Ram 1500 REV Replaces BEV Pickup

With slowing demand for full-size battery-electric trucks in North America, Stellantis has halted development of a full-size BEV pickup and is repositioning its lineup. The REEV-powered model has been rebranded as the Ram 1500 REV, promising benchmark-setting range, towing, and payload in the half-ton segment. Ram continues to strengthen its portfolio across light-duty, heavy-duty, chassis cab, and ProMaster vans, with a focus on off-road sport trucks, commercial solutions, and luxury trims. Highlights include the new Ram 1500 RHO with best-in-class off-road performance per dollar, the Tungsten luxury model with 540 horsepower and premium features, and the ProMaster with segment-leading cargo space. Under Stellantis’ Pro One global commercial vehicle arm, Ram is enhancing competitiveness, maintaining pricing power, and expanding electrified offerings worldwide.
