Subaru of America, Inc. revealed the pricing for the 2026 Subaru Impreza hatchback. This sixth-generation model showcases striking design enhancements, advanced safety features, and comes standard with the Subaru 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system.
The 2026 Subaru Impreza RS is distinguished by its revised 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine, delivering 180 horsepower, and features exclusive 18-inch wheels along with unique interior and exterior accents.
Versatility and Style
The 2026 Impreza is available in Sport and RS trims, exclusively as a 5-door hatchback, emphasizing its versatility, capability, and sporty appeal. A new premium paint option, Citron Yellow Pearl, is now available across all trims, complemented by new black rear badging. Notably, last year’s Impreza Base trim has been discontinued. Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive remains a standard feature on all models, with the 2026 Impreza set to arrive at retailers this fall.
Performance and Efficiency
The Subaru Impreza Sport is powered by a 2.0-liter, direct-injection SUBARU BOXER® engine, producing 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. The Impreza RS, on the other hand, features a 2.5-liter BOXER® engine with 180 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque, offering enhanced responsiveness at lower RPMs. Both trims come standard with a Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) and include steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters with an 8-speed manual mode.
Enhanced Structural Integrity
Built on the Subaru Global Platform, the new Impreza boasts a 10% increase in torsional rigidity compared to its predecessor. The use of full inner-frame construction and additional structural adhesive enhances body rigidity and reduces weight, resulting in improved dynamic performance, a smoother ride, and a quieter cabin. Additionally, the 2026 Impreza introduces Auto Vehicle Shutdown, which turns off the engine after 30 minutes of idling to reduce fuel consumption and prevent accidental engine running.
Advanced Safety Features
All 2026 Subaru Impreza models come equipped with the latest version of the award-winning EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. New for this year, the Emergency Lane Keep Assist feature is included on models with Blind-Spot Detection and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. This safety feature works in conjunction with EyeSight® and Blind-Spot Detection to assist with steering control, helping to avoid crashes when merging at speeds between approximately 37 and 90 mph.
Subaru Impreza Sport
Starting at $26,595 MSRP, the 2026 Subaru Impreza Sport offers an impressive array of standard features, including EyeSight® Driver Assistance Technology and the Subaru 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system with six speakers. It also includes SiriusXM with 360L, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, and Keyless Access with Push-Button Start.
The exterior of the Impreza Sport features 18-inch alloy wheels in dark gray machine finish, LED fog lights, and LED steering-responsive headlights. Inside, the vehicle boasts premium black sport cloth upholstery with red stitching, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Welcome Lighting. An option package with Blind-Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Automatic Emergency Steering, Emergency Lane Keep Assist, All-Weather Package, and Power Moonroof is available for $1,900 MSRP.
