Love’s Travel Stops Partners with Electric Era
Electric Era, a fast-growing leader in retail-focused EV charging, is accelerating adoption of DC fast chargers at convenience stores and fuel stations by cutting installation costs and timelines while boosting profitability. The company’s patented battery-backed chargers reduce operating costs by up to 70% and help customers secure federal and state incentives—winning 83% of grant applications worth $41 million.
Its newest collaboration with Love’s Travel Stops adds a four-stall, 200 kW charging station in Buena Vista, Colorado, serving travelers between Denver and Colorado Springs. Love’s leveraged funding from the Colorado Energy Office’s Fast-Charging Plazas program, which integrates federal NEVI support.
Beyond lower total cost of ownership, Electric Era’s model integrates retailer branding, loyalty programs, and in-store revenue opportunities—turning EV charging into a profit center. Led by former SpaceX engineer Quincy Lee, the company’s full-service approach simplifies permitting, engineering, and funding to speed deployment and reliability. With $5 billion in NEVI funding reinstated, Electric Era is positioned to help more retailers like Love’s future-proof operations while promoting clean energy growth.
Vontier’s Driivz Chosen by Sheetz
Vontier Corporation announced that its subsidiary Driivz, a global leader in EV charging management software, will partner with Sheetz to launch and manage the convenience retailer’s proprietary EV charging network. Expanding beyond its existing 125 third-party charging sites across seven states, Sheetz will integrate Driivz’s platform to deliver a seamless, customer-centric charging experience within its stores.
Driivz’s software will enable Sheetz to monitor charger performance, ensure uptime, and connect EV operations to the Sheetz mobile app for loyalty rewards, real-time session updates, and digital receipts. The system’s intelligent energy management tools balance on-site loads and optimize efficiency, allowing the network to scale as EV adoption grows.
The collaboration builds on Vontier’s existing infrastructure relationship with Sheetz and reflects a shared focus on innovation, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Vontier CEO Mark Morelli called the initiative “a blueprint for how successful retailers can integrate EV charging into a consistent energy and customer experience strategy.”
Toyota and Sumitomo Metal Mining Partner
Toyota Motor Corporation and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. have entered a joint development agreement to mass-produce cathode materials for all-solid-state batteries intended for battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Building on joint research begun in 2021, the companies have developed a highly durable cathode material using Sumitomo’s proprietary powder synthesis technology to address degradation during charging cycles. The collaboration aims to improve battery performance, safety, and cost-efficiency as both companies work toward Toyota’s planned 2027–2028 market launch of BEVs powered by all-solid-state batteries. The partnership marks a step toward the world’s first practical application of the technology, with the potential to reshape electric mobility and advance carbon neutrality.
Einride and PostNord Double Electric Freight Operations
Einride and PostNord Norway are expanding their partnership to double electrified transport to 1.3 million kilometers annually, strengthening sustainable logistics across the Oslo region. Using Einride’s electric trucks and AI-powered Saga platform, the collaboration builds on their 2023 deployment that already saved an estimated 2,100 tonnes of CO₂e over three years. PostNord aims to be fossil-free by 2030, with most of its regional fleet now fully electric. The partners also marked a milestone in 2025 with the world’s first cabless, electric, autonomous cross-border delivery under the EU-backed MODI project, demonstrating the scalability of digital and zero-emission freight solutions.
