Mitsubishi Confirms U.S.-Bound Electric Vehicle

Mitsubishi Motors North America has confirmed plans to launch a new battery electric vehicle (BEV) in collaboration with Nissan, marking a key milestone in its Momentum 2030 strategy. Based on the next-generation Nissan LEAF, the yet-to-be-named electric model will arrive in U.S. and Canadian dealerships by summer 2026. The initiative is part of Mitsubishi’s commitment to release a new or significantly updated vehicle each year from 2026 through 2030. The company aims to offer a diverse powertrain mix—including gas, plug-in hybrid, and electric options—while modernizing retail operations and expanding its North American footprint.

GreenPower Delivers Electric School Buses

GreenPower Motor Company has delivered three of its all-electric Type D BEAST school buses to its West Virginia dealer for the Grant County School District, funded by the EPA’s Clean School Bus Program (Round 2). This marks the second West Virginia school district to receive GreenPower buses under the program, following earlier deliveries to Kanawha County. The company has now delivered a total of 22 electric school buses across the state, showcasing its leadership as the only U.S. OEM manufacturing both Class 4 and Class 8 all-electric school buses. Despite recent policy-related delays, GreenPower continues to fulfill orders and support the transition to zero-emission student transportation.

ZM Trucks Partners with The Merlin Group

ZM Trucks has joined forces with The Merlin Group to support large, multi-state fleets in transitioning from internal combustion engine vehicles to battery electric vehicles. With a newly established manufacturing facility and headquarters in Fontana, California, ZM Trucks is poised to meet increasing demand for sustainable commercial vehicle solutions. The partnership leverages ZM’s full-vehicle manufacturing capabilities, integrated service offerings, and The Merlin Group’s expertise in fleet transformation. Together, they aim to simplify electrification for complex fleet operations through tailored, scalable solutions. ZM Trucks will showcase its ZM8 Class 5/6 electric truck at the ACT Expo 2025 in Anaheim.

Renewable Properties 17 MW Solar Projects in CA

Renewable Properties has begun construction on three new solar projects in California, totaling over 17 MWdc, with completion expected in 2025. Backed by $35.8 million in loans from Optus Bank, Pathward®, and BridgePeak Energy Capital, the Redemeyer Road Solar project in Ukiah and the Althea Avenue Solar Phases 1 and 2 in Fresno County will supply clean power through Sonoma Clean Power and PG&E programs. Redemeyer includes a 4 MWdc/16 MWh energy storage system and will support SCP’s EverGreen program, while Althea Phase 1 and 2 will serve PG&E’s DAC Green Tariff and Solar Choice programs. Together, the projects aim to power over 3,300 homes annually and offset more than 18,000 tons of CO₂. Renewable Properties plans to start construction on an additional 100 MWdc across multiple states by the end of 2025.

Gravity Launches Nation’s Fastest EV Charging Network in LA

Gravity, the only American OEM-independent developer and operator of EVSE hardware, software, and sites, is launching eight ultra-fast EV charging locations across Greater Los Angeles, starting in 2025. Each site will feature twelve 500kW chargers—twice as fast as Tesla Superchargers—offering 5-minute charging across all vehicle types. Designed with autonomous vehicles in mind, the sites include next-gen cableless charging, dedicated AV lanes, and sensors. They also feature bi-directional vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities for emergency power supply and have demonstrated unmatched reliability with 100% uptime. The initiative is part of a broader expansion strategy, with sites in East Pasadena, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, North Hills, and Thousand Oaks.

Infineon &Visteon Develop Advanced Powertrains for EVs

Infineon Technologies AG and Visteon Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop advanced electric vehicle powertrain systems. The collaboration will focus on integrating Infineon’s high-performance wideband gap semiconductor technologies—CoolGaN™ (Gallium Nitride) and CoolSiC™ (Silicon Carbide)—into Visteon’s future powertrain applications. These technologies offer increased power density, efficiency, and thermal performance, aiming to enhance the performance and reduce the cost of EV components such as battery junction boxes, DC-DC converters, and on-board chargers. The partnership is expected to accelerate innovation in EV power conversion, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable mobility ecosystem.
