Floridians Can Pay Tolls Automatic-ally via OBD Connected Car Device

Connected Car device and app provider Automatic Labs (and former Tech CARS Award Nominee), a SiriusXM compnay and PayTollo, the mobile payment platform for toll roads and bridges, today announced users of Automatic connected vehicle devices driving on Florida toll roads have the ability to pay tolls using an integrated in-vehicle toll payment solution.

Currently Automatic Pro costs $129 and includes cellular data, trip logging, business tagging, business expense, fuel logging, apps, web dashboard, crash alert, parking tracking, live vehicle tracking, IFFTT and streaming apps.

“We are very excited to work with PayTollo to launch this new tolling integration to our Florida based customers,” said Stewart Lyons, Senior Vice President, Emerging Business for SiriusXM/Automatic Labs.  “This tolling application represents one of many new feature integrations that we will be rolling out over time to provide the latest in safety, security and convenience to our customers.”

“We are excited to allow Florida vehicle owners the ability to pay for tolls independent of cell phones and transponders,” says Abenezer Yohalashet, CEO of PayTollo. “Certainly, the Automatic devices align with our goal of providing a coast to coast toll payment solution for vehicles and their drivers.”

In June 2016, PayTollo entered into a toll collections service agreement with the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) for PayTollo to pilot its GPS Toll Recognition Technology (TRT) on Florida toll roads. Because of this, Automatic device users using PayTollo technology can avoid the cash lanes and use open road tolling lanes on all toll roads and most bridges in Florida. PayTollo allows up to five vehicles per account, meaning a family could add several vehicles and never worry about getting a toll violation, or stopping to look for change.

“Technology is rapidly changing how we do business,” said Laura Kelley, CFX Executive Director. “CFX is committed to Customer Focus solutions. Pilot projects such as the PayTollo payment app with the integration of Automatic Labs allows for the expansion of options for the customer that chooses to travel on our expressways.”

Automatic, a Sirius XM Holdings Inc. company, turns almost any car into a connected car. By pairing Automatic’s app and in-car device, drivers are able to enhance their driving experience with a host of connected services.

PayTollo is a mobile payment platform for toll roads and bridges, allowing Toll Authorities and drivers an alternative payment option. Core to the PayTollo Platform is our patent pending GPS Toll Recognition Technology (TRT).
