cdn.corporate.walmart.combabyincarseatWalmart and Evenflo announced the Evenflo Advanced SensorSafe Embrace DLX, icon the first child car seat with  technology to help prevent people from forgetting children in the seat when it hot outside.

The sensor works with onboard diagnostic system (OBD) and a sensor in the belt clip to remind driver with gentle tones that a baby is in the vehicle.

Bluetooth, cellular or connections to cellphones are not required. If the car is turned off and the chest clip is still buckled, a series of tones  play to alert the driver.

Evenflo Advanced SensorSafe Embrace comes in three color choices— pink, blue and rainbow. The seat fits children 2-35 lbs with a 5-point harness and energy-absorbing foam liner. It is available as a car seat or part of the Advanced SenorSafe travel system.

Last summer, there were numerous reports of children left in hot cars. One of the problems is that new safety seats have the baby facing backwards. Busy parents, sometimes forget to check. Another way to help stop the problem is the the Kars4Kids Safety app which is designed to alert parents as soon as they leave their vehicle to retrieve their child from the back seat. The Kars4Kids Safety app  for Android syncs with the car’s Bluetooth settings to give automatic alert when the phone’s Bluetooth disconnects from the car.

On average, 38 children die every year as a result of being trapped in hot cars.

The Evenflo Advanced SensorSafe car seat is the only alert system crash tested by the manufacturer and sells exclusively at Walmart for $149.88.

At CES a belt clip detected formerly called Baby on Board was announced at CES, made by VOXX. When we last contacted VOXX, we were told that the company was in the process of changing the name of the Child Alert Seat Sensor and it will be available in early summer.
