INRIX connected car driving intelligence for roads, retail & ads

INRIXappINRIX announced a new analytics platform to help users understand data from the connected car for urban planning, retail site selection and advertising measurement. INRIX systems are built into cars such as BMW and Volkswagen. INRIX offers a real-time traffic app for iPhones, Android and Windows Phones with routing, traffic alerts, cameras and location sharing.

The INRIX Insight platform offers insights from the connected car for use in planning new roads and transit systems, locating a business or measuring the results of a marketing campaign. The platform uses real-time GPS data from a more than 250 million vehicles and devices.

INRIX Insights Trips is a data-as-a-service (DaaS) application for understanding population movement across a metropolitan area, between two locations and at various points along the way.

INRIX Insights Volume gives insight into how many vehicles typically pass a location by time of day, day of week at a location as well as actual vehicle counts on a specific day, time and side of the road.

The services are available to customers in the U.S. and Europe

INRIX Insights Trips and INRIX Insights Volume provides government agencies with a way to plan roads and transit. INRIX claims that their data is fast, reliable, uses anonymized GPS data and gives insight into freight vehicle movement.

INRIX Insights Volume and INRIX Insights Trips services are designed to help retailers work smarter. It lets them know how many people pass locations, measures impact of marketing, how long it takes to get to the location and traffic to competitors stores.

INRIX XD Traffic will be launched in Audi 2015 models vehicles in North America, with Audi connect.

INRIX is working with Samsung for driving-related apps and services for the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones.

INRIX reported that it has partnered with Samsung for traffic apps for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge and Gear S. It provides services for the Volkswagen Passat.
